Billy Joel's great song, Pressure Pressure is the song of the day; but with a slight tweak in the lyrics - Blood Pressure! We can't seem to get this issue under control. It began sneaking back-up as soon we arrived in her new room and has been a source of concern all day. She is on the dialysis machine right now and it is hoped that by drawing more fluids off, her readings will come down. Today she has been as high as 165/119 and is currently at 155/104.
Alyssa likes her new private room, which is a little on the smallish size, but much more "home-like" than the MICU. She has her own bathroom complete with a shower.
She walked today for the first time in a week. It was just a short little trip, but it felt great to her. She is already planning her big escape to the cafeteria down stairs. She is on a renal diet, but still can eat pretty much what she wants. Fluid intake however is carefully monitored.
Not much else to report
