2/9/09 - 9:00 PM

After receiving her apheresis treatment this morning, it turned into moving day again. Alyssa graduated from ICU 101 - Advanced Placement, this afternoon and was moved to a cardiac unit floor. We received the news with mixed feelings. This is Alyssa's second foray into the main stream hospital and we weren't real comfortable with this move. She had yet to have a dialysis treatment w/o seeing her blood pressures rise; but our concerns fell on deaf ears.

Sure enough, on the way upstairs her blood pressure began to rise. Her dialysis treatments began shortly after getting to her new room and within 15 minutes she was at 190/129. Some strong words were exchanged and concerns shared. While it took longer than we would have liked to have seen, they eventually were able to bring her BP down to 120/84. However, two more years were removed off of Mom & Dad lives and Alyssa will be forever looking over her shoulder when she is on Dialysis.

Test Results:
EEG, Brain Cat Scan and Kidney Ultrasound were all clear/negative. Even the swelling on her brain which appeared in last week's MRI, was gone. All good news.

Gotta run now, but will possibly update latter when it calms down here.
